About US
Decolonise QMUL aims to be a teaching and learning resource for raising awareness to the oppression that is perpetuated throughout the body of students belonging to marginalised groups; whether that be gender/ethnicity/(dis)ability/religion.
Said community at our university tends to suffer in silence due to the structural inequalities that are embedded within our institution, and often this leads to lower attainment, retention and success.
Through building a community of students with a common aim, we strive to decolonise the university through lobbying and campaigning. Not only are structural changes our aim – our priority is positively impacting the individual experience of students that may have otherwise felt alienated from the ‘normal’ university experience.
By developing realistic goals, such as changes to the curriculum and teaching styles, our student body will be able turn small changes into big changes with your support.
